Indu Subaiya, MD, MBA - Interim CEO

Indu Subaiya

Dr. Subaiya is Healthcare in Action’s interim CEO, where she leads multidisciplinary teams to provide street medicine and housing navigation services to people experiencing homelessness. Prior to joining Healthcare in Action, she co-founded and led Health 2.0, a global platform and community for new health technologies. She was also an executive and advisor at HIMSS, providing thought leadership and content advisory services under the office of the Chief Technology and Innovation Officer. Dr. Subaiya has extensive expertise in healthcare and technology and has held leadership roles as an entrepreneur, researcher, and consultant. She has also served on several advisory committees of the Department of Health and Human Services and National Health Data Consortium. Dr. Subaiya holds a BS degree from Cornell University and MD from Stony Brook University. She received her MBA from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley.

K. Grace Bell, MBA - Chief Operating Officer

Ms. Bell oversees the operations and finance of Healthcare in Action and Healthcare in Action Medical Group. Prior to HIA, Grace was the Senior Director at Included Health, leading their Virtual Primary Care solution. She was also a Director at CareMore Health/ Anthem, Inc, where she led national specialty operations and strategy, mobile care operations, and an in-home fully at-risk primary care. Grace has also worked at the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, Huron Consulting Group, and Rittenhouse Ventures. Grace has a Masters in Business Administration with a focus in Healthcare from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and an undergraduate degree in Health Finance from Case Western Reserve University.

José Luis González, MD, MPH - Vice President of Clinical Services & Medical Director

Dr. González is board-certified in both Internal Medicine and Addiction Medicine. He has broad clinical experience, having worked as a primary care physician both at LAC+USC and Keck Hospital of USC’s outpatient clinics. Dr. González served as Associate Director of the LAC+USC Residency Program, where he focused on promoting diversity in medicine. He also served as faculty advisor to the Latino Medical Student Association. Dr. González attended medical school at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago and completed his residency at LAC+USC Medical Center. He is fluent in both English and Spanish.

Sonali Saluja, MD, MPH - Vice President of Population Health & Medical Director

Sonali Saluja

Dr. Saluja is the Medical Director and Vice President of Population Health at Healthcare in Action where she oversees clinical teams and leads research and evaluation efforts. She is a board-certified internal medicine physician with a background in health services research and medical education. Dr. Saluja previously served as the Direct of the Gehr Family Center for Health Systems Science and Innovation at USC’s Keck School of Medicine where she was an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine and Hospitalist at LAC+USC Medical Center. Dr. Saluja attended medical school at the University of Wisconsin and completed her residency at Providence Portland Medical Center. She completed a fellowship in general internal medicine at Harvard Medical School and concurrently received her Master’s in Public Health from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.

Benjamin Kaska, PA - Vice President of Clinical Operations

Benjamin Kaska

Mr. Kaska attended the University of California, Irvine, receiving his Bachelor of Science in Biology. He attended the USC Keck School of Medicine Physician Assistant (PA) Program, earning his Master’s in Physician Assistant Practice in 2012. After becoming a PA, he spent 9 years at Share Our Selves (SOS) FQHC clinic where he led clinical operations, electronic medical system customization, clinical optimization, revenue cycle and clinical efficiency, quality metric analysis, and program development. Benjamin joined Healthcare in Action Medical Group as a PA in 2021 and has since transitioned into his leadership role in Clinical Operations.
